The integration of multiple product functionalities is becoming increasingly important as it creates considerable added value for end users. Ceramics materials have a great potential for product innovations due to their broad property range. Ceramic technologies enable the combination of unique electronic, magnetic, electromagnetic and mechanical properties and can thus be applied under extreme environmental conditions such as high temperatures or in chemically aggressive environments. The topic of pioneering ceramic developments from the fields of energy, chemical and environmental technology is addressed by renowned experts from industry and science. Current development trends from biomedicine and microsystem technology are given as another example of the innovative potential of ceramic technologies. One major concern of the conference is to call the attention of the medium sized industry to these developments and their considerable market potential. The program committee consists of Dr. Bärbel Voigtsberger (Hermsdorfer Institut für Technische Keramik e.V.), Prof. Dr. Alexander Michaelis (Fraunhofer Institut for ceramic technology and PM materials) and Dr. Wolfgang A. Schiller (Federal institute for material research and testing) and guarantees participants top-notch lectures.
